VR Infotech, established in 1997 is a well-structured distribution house based in Mumbai. Vikram Mehta,Director, V R Infotech, shares his views during an interaction with Digital Terminal regarding the scope for Kaspersky security solutions in the Indian market.

FLASH BACK STORY

Being a family background of being leading importer in plastic granules since 1970, ventured in import of computer peripherals in 1997 wherein we were the few importers to do so on large scale in the Mumbai markets. VR Infotech has grown to be a name to reckon with in the computer accessories market. Its offerings now sell under the Techmatrix and Speedtech brand names and are backed by the company’s business strategy of providing latest IT products at affordable prices to the Indian PC user community.

The enterprising brothers - Girish and Vikram - are the force behind the popularity of the company’s products in the market. Today, products sold under the Techmatrix and Speedtech brand names contribute to nearly 80 percent of the company’s revenues.

The fast-changing technology landscape does not deter the company as it has gained further ground and is promptly adding about 15-20 innovative products to its portfolio every month. Sourcing the best products from China and Taiwan, at factory level prices, VR Infotech has been successfully running its import and distribution business for 16 long years. The company’s incessant quest to provide innovative IT products for channels and customers, and its unique market strategy that helps it sustain good growth.

Kaspersky Lab recently appointed VR Infotech as its National Distributor for Kaspersky Antivirus 2014 and Kaspersky Total Security (Pure 3.0) retail products distribution in India.Kaspersky Security solutions are the best available solution to protect devices (AV Comparatives, AV Test, VB 100, and other independent testing reports confirm this) Kaspersky Lab has a track record of 15+ years, customer base of 300+ million users worldwide and direct presence in 200 countries. Kaspersky Lab was recognized and voted as one of the ‘Best Antivirus Solution’and as ‘Favorite Antivirus’ brand by some of the renowned channel publication and IT associations in India and worldwide.

Our focus for this year will be Kaspersky Security Solutions – Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 and Kaspersky Total Security. We plan to take this solution to B and C class cities, in addition to the already established metro market. We see tremendous growth potential for Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Total Security.

But at the same time let me remind you that Kaspersky Security solutions are technically sound yet user friendly and if any customer follow the installation and activation prompts properly, they will be able to install and use the solution, which is added advantage to our customers and channels in Band C class cities.

CHANNEL PLANS

From channel appointment perspective, having the right partner is fundamental to succeed in the Indian market that is highly competitive. It’s important to work with the right partners backed up with local expertise and technical strength.To increase our coverage, we plan to recruit 1000 system integrators in Pan-India who can offer excellent service and support to the end-customers in their region. At the same time we will ensure that each partner makes optimum level profits at each level. Hence during the appointment of the partners we plan to give exclusive rights to the partner to sell and promote Kaspersky lab security solution in their respective territories.

BEST SALES SUPPORT

Our regional sales team will help the partner to drive their Kaspersky business and compliment their efforts in promoting Kaspersky security solution in their territories. We already have appointed 37 sales professionals to increase our reach in the B and C class cities. We plan to recruit total 50 experienced sales professionals at regional level who will work closely with channel partners to promote Kaspersky Antivirus and Kaspersky Total Security.

Kaspersky Lab has an iconic brand ambassador Sachin Tendulkar which will help us to motivate channel partners to do more by conducting various activities in association with Sachin. We will provide opportunities to performing partners to meet Sachin shortly to establish a stronger connect with channel segment. In nutshell, we will continue to extend our support to the channel partners with our aggressive on ground marketing support and channel centric policies helping channel partner to maximize their return on investment and accelerate their profits.
