Throughout 2014, the HP Graphics Solutions Business saw significant growth, both in unit sales and technological innovations across the general commercial printing industry as well as emerging vertical markets such as packaging and decoration. Highlights from the 2014 calendar year include:
· Technology innovation: HP introduced the HP Indigo 7800 and WS6800 Digital Presses, HP High-speed Inkjet Corrugated Packaging Solution, HP Scitex 15000 Corrugated Press, large-format HP PageWide Technology and HP Latex 300 series printers.
· Digital labels and packaging growth: HP saw double-digit page growth for HP Indigo in the labels & packaging segment in 2014 and made a significant push into corrugated packaging. The HP Indigo 20000 and 30000 presses, HP High-speed Inkjet Corrugated Packaging Solution and HP Scitex 15000 are poised to further drive the market transformation in 2015 and open new revenue sources for print providers, converters and brand owners.
· Bringing PageWide to large-format: HP introduced the new HP Large-format PageWide Technology on June 10 with further product announcements and shipments planned in 2015. The new technology addresses a $1.3B market opportunity within enterprise businesses and reprographics houses currently dominated by LED technology.
· Latex is here to stay: There are more than 21,500 HP Latex printers installed worldwide that have printed more than 3 billion square feet (280 million square meters) of output. This output includes more than 500,000 wallpaper rolls as sign shops and designers use HP Latex to expand into custom and on-demand wall coverings.
