Dell Launches Dell Champs School Contact Program

Dell announced the “Dell Champs – 2015” School Program, a 20 city student-outreach program woven around the theme, ‘Learning Meets Doing’. This program has witnessed growing interest and participation from school going students and parents over the last five years. Dell Champs is based on the thought that computing can transform the process of learning with intuitive technology and contribute to the all-round development of a child. Be it studies, entertainment, research or just browsing, students today spend a lot of time with their ‘technology companion’, and it occupies a very important place in their daily lives. This program is in line with Dell’s latest “Back to School” campaign which lays heavy emphasis on the evolution of the process of learning.

The “Dell Champs – 2015” program features an interactive technology based quiz contest that provides a unique platform for parents to participate with their child and be a partner in their success. The teams comprising of a parent and child studying in class 5th - 7th standard will compete for the title of "Dell Champs" 2015. This grand quiz contest will bring forth the geniuses of tomorrow in 400 schools across 20 Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities throughout India and make the winning team a Dell Champ.

Mr. P Krishnakumar, Vice President, Consumer & Small Business, Dell India - “Dell Champs – 2015 aims to introduce a newer and more immersive style of learning to school students beyond the conventional classroom lessons. Intuitive technology has the capability to make the learning process more simple and at the same time, fruitful. Through the concept of ‘Learning Meets Doing’ we wish to bring students together to take the learning process to new, interactive levels. Dell Champs is a platform that engages with students and parents to show them how technology can transform the process of learning, giving students knowledge and information which is beyond their curriculum. Through this, we wish to engage with parents of school going children to better equip them in the overall development of their children, with technology as a companion.”

The competition will be conducted in three stages, with the first being the ‘School level’, where interested teams will have an audio visual written preliminary round out of which 6 teams will be chosen and a Final On-stage Round from which 2 teams will be chosen to represent the school in the City Finals.

While School Level winners are being decided, there will be an Interactive workshop as part of Dell’s School Contact Program, to educate children and parents on how PCs can enhance learning and on Internet safety.

The second round will have 40 teams from the 20 schools competing in the ‘City level’ contest, and the top 20 City level finalists will complete in an online quiz in the ‘National level’. The National level quiz will be conducted on the Dell Champs microsite. The winning team will receive a Dell All-in-One PC.
