Motherboard business has gone through tremendous evolution in last couple of years in terms of technology. But the demand has been quite low due to decline in assembling PC business in India. Yet the vendors are very much aggressive as there are other factors which had fueled the market. ECS, one of the leading vendor has already taken a leap while understanding the upcoming trends and consumer demand in India. Mr. Rajshekhar Bhatt, Country Manager, India, ECS talks to DT and shares his opinion, marketing strategy and channel plans.

Q: How do you see growth of Motherboard business in India? What are the current challenges?

A:We still believe Indian PC market has great opportunity to grow, for Desktop market major customers areGovt, BFSI, BPO’s & other applications & users who would need computing device on their desk.Additionally with our other offering like Mini PC & AIO range we do believe we have right mix of form factors catering to people looking for Lifestyle affordable products for their home & offices.

Q: Where do see the positioning of ECS as a brand among Indian consumers?

A:World's leading hardware and PC system manufacturer, Elitegroup Computer Systems(ECS) has the main highlighted products, the world's first mini PC powered by the Intel® Core™ M processor, education notebook as a niche productand intelligent gateways for IoT field.Keeping this in mind we position our products at suitable & affordable price offering rich features.

Q: What expectations do you have from the growing market of gaming PC in India?

A:As many motherboard players have started paying their attentions to the gaming market, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), as a major motherboard vendor, is also set to expand its gaming business with a new product 100 series motherboard and with its Durathon 2 certification system to guarantee its product quality, the company is eyeing for a better shipment performance in 2015. Meanwhile, we provide the Durathon 2 is a certification system that is far stricter than the average of the motherboard industry.

Q: What are your current product offering for Indian market?

A:For this year, ECS will mainly focus on motherboard products and will showcase its new certification system called Durathon 2, an innovation that allows the company’s motherboard products to feature quality surpassing the industry standard.Meanwhile, we will also release a new series of gaming motherboard products called LEET. Since demand for conventional PC products already started slowing down, most motherboard players have already turned to the high-end segment seeking for opportunities and ECS will surely not miss from the trend and will place heavy resources to strengthen its competitiveness.In addition to motherboards, ECS will also demonstrate several mini PCs with the company’s latest designs call “LIVA” series this year. Brand new LIVA X2 sports a fashionable pearl white finish, breaking the concept of the traditional computer. In addition, ECS LIVA Core and X2 are the World’s first mini PC supporting Windows 10 Cortana voice assistance via native dual microphones.

Q: How do you distribute your products in India? Brief us about your distribution model.

A:Channel is an integral part of our value chain, as a company we invest lot of time and money to train, educate our partners. Our whole focus is to offer competitive product with all key features and high reliability to enduser as well to maintain healthy bottom line for our channel partners.

Q: How closely you do work with your partner?

A: We do take regular feedback from our partners to help us improve on existing or future products. We reward them time to time for their support to help us grow our business. We insure there is no conflict and price competition between the channel partners.We also expand/add channel partners in high growth market where either there is no focus or less focus by competition.

Q: How do you provide better service support to your consumers?

A:Rashi is our exclusive distributor partner. They also take care of after sales support hence we are been able to rich 54 cities across India. On top our failure rate is lowest in the industry and not to forget best TAT.
