‘Amtrak Focus is not to Sell Box ONLY’

Many vendors have ventured into the Tablet market in last one year tap the huge potential. Most of them are just running in the same race to sell their tabs just like a box. But few vendors are really keen to offer valuable solution according to consumers’ requirement. DIGITAL TERMINAL recently engaged in a conversation with Sandeep Arya, Managing Director, Amtrak Info Solution. He shares his views and channel plans with the publication.

DIGITAL TERMINAL: How do you see the growth of tablet market in India? What are the fueling factors for its huge opportunities?

Sandeep: The trend of tablets began post the first launch in the year 2010 in India. The sale of tablet PCs was recorded close to 4.5 million units in 2011. This sale is expected to make a drastic achievement to 23.6 million units in 2017. The Indian Tablet market is observing a transition from desktop PC to Tablet PC, as more and more people are seeking to adopt the mobility offered by Tablets.

Tablet in itself is a utility gadget which can be suitable for every industry or stream. Its acceptability and flexibility to act in various industries and areas of life makes it a fueling factor to grab opportunities for its success.

DIGITAL TERMINAL: What are your plans to tap tablet market in India?

Sandeep: We have focused at not just bringing a simple box, but presenting a package to the end user. We bring a package of custom made exclusive utility applications for the users which can be applicable at different spheres of life and work. Our ‘go-to-market strategy’, which has made us different from the others, is precisely that we understand the demand of an aspirant tablet buyer of having a premium quality featured product. This has been made possible by making the premium features available at a much affordable price range.

DIGITAL TERMINAL: What all new products we can see in coming months?

Sandeep: At present, we are offering 5 different models of tablets, starting from a basic model of 7 inches to the most high-end model of 10 inches support. We will be launching our range of tablets in the coming month. In the next quarter, we plan to launch our dedicated series of tablets for specific audiences, which will be packed with suitable applications and features for the dedicated use – such as, Education, Travel, Health, etc

DIGITAL TERMINAL: What are your channel plans? Please tell us about your channel strength.

Sandeep: Currently, as this is yet to be launched in the market, we have started activating the distribution market, and currently, catering to 15 state distributors, covering close to 75 district distributors. And, as this is a gradual process for the next 6 months, we are expecting by 1st week of July, 2013, to be operational in all major towns pan India.

DIGITAL TERMINAL: Are you running any channel schemes currently? Can we see announcement of any new schemes in coming days?

Sandeep: At present, there are no channel schemes, but yes in the coming time, we will definitely be having some fascinating schemes for our prestigious channel partners.
